UK firm to set up agro processing industry in Dhaka

Dhaka: British company, Oasis Transformation Limited, is going to set up an agro processing industry in the Uttara Export project Processing Zone.

This 100 per cent foreign-owned company will invest about Tk 4 crore and will produce interior screens, matting, lighting, tableware, table, chairs and accessories which will be manufactured from local bamboo. The company will also create employment opportunity for 46 Bangladeshi and two foreign nationals.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the Oasis Transformation Ltd in BEPZA Complex in the city on Thursday.

Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Managing Director of Oasis Transformation Ltd signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Brig General Jamil Ahmed Khan, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman of BEPZA and other high officials of both sides were present on the occasion.
