UK fund invests Rs. 25 cr in Glocal.
The UK Government's Department for International Development (DFID) has invested nearly Rs.25 crore, in low-cost rural hospital company Glocal Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.
According to DFID India Head Sam Sharpe, the investment was made via SIDBI Venture Capital, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIDBI. 'We are focusing on investments in the healthcare sector in West Bengal. A 2.5-million Euro investment in Glocal Healthcare has already been approved,' Sharpe said on the sidelines of a press conference to announce the UK Government's partnership with West Bengal. zGlocal operates 100-bed, affordable high-tech rural hospitals across the State. The company is also setting up such facilities in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha.
