Vandanaa Power plans an investment of Rs.10,000 Cr for power plant in Gujarat Ahmedabad: Vandanaa Power Infratech Pvt Ltd is planning to set up a 2400 MW (600MW x 4 units) coal-based power plant near Navalakhi port in Kutch district, with an estimated investment of Rs 10,000 crore.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard during recently concluded Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit 2011.

The company has identified about 2000 acres of land in Navalakhi and will start the construction work after taking the required clearances from the government.

It also plans to commission first unit of 2400 MW plant by 2014-15.

The company will use imported coal for the project, which will be based on the super critical technology based.

It will import coal at the Navalakhi port itself as it has coal handling facility.
