“Vikran Engineering Wins ₹459.20-Crore Solar EPC Project in Uttar Pradesh from NTPC Renewable Energy”
Vikran Engineering Limited (VEL), an emerging multisector EPC company in India, announced on Thursday that it has received a Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for a ₹459.20-crore EPC contract to execute a 400 MW AC grid-connected solar power project at Chitrakoot-1 in Uttar Pradesh.
The contract covers the Balance of System (BoS) package and is scheduled for completion within 12 months. The scope of work includes inland transportation, insurance, installation, testing, commissioning, and guarantee tests, ensuring the project is fully operational.
Vikran Engineering will execute the project in compliance with NTPC Renewable Energy’s technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements, demonstrating the company’s capability to deliver large-scale, time-bound renewable energy projects for major public-sector clients.

The order marks a key milestone in Vikran Engineering’s diversification strategy, strengthening its credentials in the solar EPC segment alongside its established presence in power transmission and distribution, water infrastructure, and railway electrification.
The Chitrakoot-1 solar project is expected to significantly contribute to India’s renewable energy capacity addition, supporting the country’s long-term sustainability and decarbonization goals.
