VOC Port Area to Feature Five-Star Beach Resort Amidst Industrial Boom.

The VOC Port Authority has unveiled plans for the development of a five-star beach resort adjacent to its existing guest house. This strategic move aims to cater to the growing influx of industry officials and business travelers drawn by the rapid industrialization in the Thoothukudi region.

The Port Authority has issued a tender inviting proposals for the construction and operation of the luxury resort. The tender specifies that port land near the guest house will be allotted for the project for a period of 30 years.

Sources indicate that the decision to build a high-end accommodation facility close to the port stems from the emergence of numerous large-scale industries in the vicinity. Currently, officials visiting these projects often face the inconvenience of commuting approximately 10 kilometers from hotels located within Thoothukudi town. The new resort will offer a much-needed convenient and upscale lodging option, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing comfort for business visitors.

Thoothukudi town currently offers several notable hotels, including GRT, SRM, Satya Resorts, and DSF Grand Plaza. The addition of a five-star beach resort near the port will not only complement the existing hospitality infrastructure but also align with the region's burgeoning industrial landscape.
