Volvo-Eicher JV VECV Allocates ₹544 Crore for New Automated Manual Transmission Plant.

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, announced a ₹544 crore investment to establish a new production facility for Volvo Group’s 12-speed automated manual transmissions (AMTs).

The greenfield factory will be set up at the Vikram Udyogpuri Integrated Industrial Township near Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, according to a company statement released on Thursday.

This new facility will support the growing demand for automated manual transmissions among Eicher heavy-duty truck customers in India, as well as for Volvo Group’s operations in India and select markets across the Asia-Oceania region.

The investment is part of VECV’s strategy to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and cater to evolving market needs with advanced transmission technologies.
