Waaree Energies Plans ₹8,175-Crore Battery Gigafactory in Andhra Pradesh.
Waaree Energies is set to establish India’s largest integrated lithium-ion battery gigafactory in Andhra Pradesh, a move expected to bolster the country’s energy storage and electric mobility infrastructure.
The project will be located at Rambilli in Anakapalli and involves an investment of ₹8,175 crore. The facility is projected to generate around 3,000 direct jobs, providing a significant boost to local employment and the regional economy.
The greenfield gigafactory will have a planned capacity of 16 GWh and will span the entire battery value chain, including cell manufacturing, battery pack assembly, and large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The development underscores Waaree Energies’ push to strengthen India’s position in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sectors.
