Wonderla’s ₹611-crore Chennai Park to Open in December, Set to Generate 1,000+ Jobs.

Amusement park operator Wonderla Holidays has announced the launch of Wonderla Chennai, a new 65-acre theme park built with an investment of over ₹611 crore. The project is expected to generate more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs. According to a company release, the park will be inaugurated on December 1 by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and will open to the public on December 2.

At a press conference recently, Arun K. Chittilappilly, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Wonderla Holidays, said the new park would be “India’s most advanced and immersive amusement park.” He noted that Wonderla Chennai was the result of a decade-long effort, supported by the Tamil Nadu government, and marks the company’s presence across all of South India.

Chittilappilly added that Wonderla’s internationally recognised safety and hygiene standards, along with a lineup of unique air-conditioned rides, would help the Chennai park stand out in the city’s amusement park landscape.
