Work on Paktika Hospital renovation begins in Sharan

Sharan: Renovation work of the Paktika central civil hospital started in the provincial capital Sharan.

Head of the public health department of the province Dr Abdul Matin said the construction works will include overall refurbishment of the civil hospital in addition to building residential houses for health workers, a big kitchen and asphalting the ways inside the hospital.

A room where to keep bodies of the dead will also be built as part of the renovation of the Sharan hospital, said Dr Matin.

He added that the Provincial Reconstruction Team was providing the 25 millions Afghanis fund for the reconstruction work that is due to be completed in eight months.

Paktika governor said improvement of the health sector was on top of the development works in the backward province.

A female doctor at the hospital, Dr Zinat Haya, said they were living in rooms belonging to the hospital, but they could not accommodate the health workers families well.

She said the problem will be now solved by building separately residential rooms for the doctors.
