Yadgir industrial hub attracts ₹13,500-crore investments.
The Yadgir industrial hub in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region has already attracted investments to the tune of ₹13,500 crore.
'We are aggressively promoting Yadgir Industrial Park at the Invest Karnataka 2016. As of now more than 45 proposals have been approved,' Ratna Prabha, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries, told Business Line.
'Promotion of Yadgir Industrial Park is part of the larger efforts to reach every nook and corner of the State, encouraging investors to move away from Bengaluru and give impetus to tier II and III cities,' she added.
The government has acquired 3,232 acres of land for the development of an integrated Industrial park at Yadgir. Out of it, 1,000 acres will be used for setting up a textile park and 500 acres for pharma industries.
'The Yadgir Industrial Park has generated keen interest amongst investors. Development work has begun at the industrial area. The construction of the textiles park in the most backward region of the State is likely to improve the condition of cotton growers and weavers, besides generating employment for a large number of people,' Ratna Prabha said.
The industrial hub is expected to generate 12,145 jobs. The government is also planning to set up a hi-tech textile training centre in the district.
'The proposed training centre will be set up on five acres of land in Bandalli village with an investment of about ₹10 crore,'she said.
The major projects approved at the Yadgir Park are: Rail Coach Factory has been allotted 150 acres of land and handed over possession. More than 40 pharma industries proposals have been approved at Kadechur Industrial Area, Yadgir.
As an anchor industry, proposal of Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages has been cleared and the company is investing ₹250 crore bottling plant. It has been allotted 150 acres of land. Mphinite Solutions (PET bottle manufacturers) is planning to invest of ₹490 crore. It has been allotted 125 acres of land.
Hygro Chemicals has been allotted 10 acres of land and the proposal of Shahi Exports with an investment of ₹179 crore for readymade garments has been approved. Nash International has identified 20 acres of land for their proposed biomass energy project and will invest ₹1,500 crore.
