Yamuna Expressway Emerges as India’s New Electronics Hub.

The Yamuna Expressway corridor near Delhi is fast becoming a major centre for electronics manufacturing, driven by a wave of high-value investments and strong government support. Key among these is a ₹3,706 crore semiconductor plant being set up by the HCL-Foxconn joint venture, along with facilities by other electronics players such as Amber Technology, Micromax, and Dixon.

Government sources say the Uttar Pradesh government is actively supporting the initiative by ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply, while the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is working closely with companies to facilitate infrastructure and operational needs.

If successfully executed, the project could transform Uttar Pradesh into a major industrial hub, generating tens of thousands of jobs and significantly bolstering India’s position in the global semiconductor and electronics supply chain. The state’s strategy integrates large-scale manufacturing with AI-driven urban planning, aiming to build an ecosystem that is both industrially robust and innovation-led.
