Adani Power Secures 800 MW Thermal Plant Contract in Madhya Pradesh.

Adani Power Ltd has won a contract to develop an 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district, the company announced on Monday. The new project marks the fourth major power supply order for Adani Power in the past year.

The company received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the MP Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL) after emerging as one of the lowest bidders in a competitive process. The final tariff for the power supply is set at ₹5.838 per kWh. Adani Power will invest approximately ₹10,500 crore to set up the plant and its related infrastructure.

A String of Major Wins

The new facility will be built under a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model and is expected to be commissioned within 54 months. This latest win continues a strong run for the company over the last 12 months:

  • Maharashtra: In September 2024, Adani Power and Adani Green Energy secured a Letter of Intent (LoI) to supply a combined 6,600 MW of power, including 1,600 MW of thermal power.

  • Uttar Pradesh: In May 2025, the company received an LoA from the Uttar Pradesh government to supply 1,600 MW from a new plant.

  • Bihar: In August 2025, Adani Power was awarded an LoA by the Bihar government to supply 2,400 MW from a new facility.
