Akfa wins $109mn Riyadh airport MEP contract.

Turkey-based Akfa Contracting has announced its winning of a $109mn (SAR ) contract for the MEP works on Terminal 5 of Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport.

The terms of the contract stipulate that the firm's work on the 100,000m² project should be complete by May 2015.

Akfa said that it will deploy a workforce of around 1,000 on the project, including a staff of approximately 100 engineers and technicians.

Ali Kemal Pekkinder, general manager of Akfa Holding Middle East, said that the contract represented further evidence of Turkish contractors' growing stature in the global construction industry.
