"Amazon Web Services to Expand Data Center Operations in Telangana"
Amazon Inc. has announced plans to significantly expand its data center facilities and workforce in Hyderabad. This commitment was revealed following a meeting between Amazon’s senior leadership team, led by Kerry Person, Vice President of AWS Data Centre Planning and Delivery, and the Telangana delegation, headed by IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, during Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent tour of the U.S.
Hyderabad is already a key hub for Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the company has now identified it as a strategic location for future growth. The expansion will include new hyperscale data centers critical for supporting AI and machine learning services.
Kerry Person expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “I am excited by the opportunity to further develop our cloud infrastructure in Hyderabad. This expansion is a crucial part of AWS’s strategy in India. We anticipate that the AWS Region in Hyderabad will play a vital role in our growth of cloud services, including Artificial Intelligence, in India. AWS is committed to supporting Telangana’s digital ambitions and helping drive India towards its trillion-dollar digital economy goal.”
Amazon’s expanded operations will enhance its range of cloud services, including computing, storage, databases, networking, machine learning, analytics, and AI.
