AMPIN Energy Transition Expands Partnership with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
AMPIN Energy Transition has announced a second partnership with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to develop approximately 2 gigawatts peak (GWp) of renewable energy projects across India. The new collaboration, with an investment exceeding $300 million, aims to build a renewable energy asset base valued at around $1.5 billion.
This partnership follows an initial agreement between the two companies in 2021, which involved joint equity investments of about $200 million in renewable energy projects. Since then, the partnership has been extended with an additional investment of around $100 million, expanding the project portfolio from the initial 1.7 GWp target to about 2.4 GWp, creating a renewable energy asset base of $1.2-1.5 billion.
The new investment focuses on solar, wind, hybrid, and storage technologies. The 2 GWp portfolio will consist of large-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects throughout India, which will contribute to the country's growing demand for sustainable energy.
Currently, AMPIN Energy Transition holds a portfolio of around 4 GWp across 21 Indian states. The company, headquartered in New Delhi with regional offices in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, operates a balanced mix of renewable energy assets, including solar, wind, and storage solutions, to supply green power to utility, commercial, and industrial customers.
