GE Aerospace Ramps Up India Presence on Growing Engine Order Book.

Global aircraft engine maker GE Aerospace is scaling up its presence in India in step with the rapid expansion of the country’s aviation market.

Vikram Rai, Chief Executive Officer, South Asia, GE Aerospace, said the company has built a sizeable pipeline of engine deliveries for India-based airlines and defence customers over the coming years, reflecting strong demand across both civil and military aviation segments.

At present, more than 1,400 GE Aerospace and CFM commercial engines are in operation in India. CFM is a 50:50 joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines. In addition, over 200 GE Aerospace defence engines are currently deployed across the country, underscoring India’s growing role in the company’s global operations.
