APSRTC Asked to Ramp Up EV Adoption by Andhra Pradesh Government.

N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, recently directed the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation to increase the number of electric vehicles (EVs) in its fleet, aiming to make public transport more affordable while promoting environmentally sustainable operations.

During a review meeting on roads and highways held in Amaravati, the Chief Minister emphasised the need to optimise fuel costs to improve service delivery at reduced operational expenses. He also called for a gradual transition to air-conditioned electric buses across all categories of public transport.

Naidu further instructed officials to prioritise the construction and upgradation of national and state highways to enhance economic activity across the state. He highlighted the importance of developing road networks that effectively connect ports within Andhra Pradesh and strengthen connectivity with other parts of the country.
