Asian Paints plans greenfield unit in Haryana

New Delhi: Asian Paints Ltd on Monday said that it would invest Rs 300 crore in setting up a manufacturing facility at Rohak in Haryana.

Mr Rajeev Batra, Chief Manager, Corporate Relations, Asian Paints said, “We have acquired 130 acres of land at Rohtak and would invest Rs 300 crore to set up a greenfield manufacturing unit there,” on the sidelines of the India Economic Summit here.

“The plant, with initial plant capacity of 1.5 lakh kilo litres, is likely to come up by end 2009 and we might double the capacity in the near future based on the market demand,” Mr Batra said.

Asian Paints currently has a capacity of 3 lakh kilo litres of paints per annum. With the new plant, the total manufacturing strength of the company will be brought up to 4.5 lakh kilo litres per annum.
