Association for Industrial Development Proposes New Steel Cluster in Gadchiroli.
The Association for Industrial Development (AID) has submitted a proposal to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, advocating the establishment of a steel cluster in Gadchiroli district. The association said several companies are ready to invest, provided the government offers a competitive incentive package.
In a press release, AID noted that secondary steel producers including Sanvijay Rolling & Engineering Ltd, Ramsons Group, Divyansh Steel Private Limited, and Goyal Iron & Steel have expressed interest in setting up units in the proposed cluster under favorable conditions.
AID president Ashish Kale personally met with Fadnavis and presented a concept note outlining plans to develop Gadchiroli into a sustainable and globally competitive steel manufacturing hub. Copies of the note were also shared with Industries Minister Uday Samant and Principal Secretary (Industries) P Anabalgan.
The proposal specifies the need for pre-acquired industrial land banks with plug-and-play facilities, preferential allocation for MSMEs at affordable rates, and at least 1,000 hectares of land to be developed in phases. It also calls for strong rail connectivity, reliable water and power supply, and the establishment of an ecosystem for independent power producers to supply electricity at reasonable rates.
The initiative builds on discussions from the Advantage Vidarbha 2025 meet, where industry leaders including JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal and Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited Managing Director B Prabhakaran emphasized the role of secondary steel manufacturers in supporting large integrated steel plants.
“Kale said, “Gadchiroli is uniquely placed to become one of India's most promising steel manufacturing regions. With its rich iron ore reserves, growing infrastructure, and government focus on balanced regional development, this is the right moment to create a world-class steel cluster.”
