Bahra cables supplies cables to Al Mashaar Makkah metro project

Bahra Cables Company, the latest cable factory in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a member of CPC Group of Companies, won a contract worth 50 million Saudi Riyals to supply cables for Al Mashaar Makkah Metro project.

Bahra Cables Company started supplying cables and electrical wires to the project, which will be finalized and delivered to the relevant Governmental authorities by the end of the year 2010.

Bahra Cables Company will supply the low voltage cables and electrical wires according to the British specifications which is inspected and approved by Dar Al-Handasah Consultants.

Winning Al Mashaar makkah metro project contract is an important step towards highlighting the high quality of our products, which comply with international standards and specifications. To avoid hindering pedestrians movement or traffic for vehicles transferring pilgrims from Mina to Arafa, Arafa to Muzdalifa and then to Mina, elevation of the metro line reaches 8 meters above the ground, and even 10 meters, in certain areas. When fully operational in Hajj season 2011, the train will accommodate 72,000 people per hour per direction.

The total cost for constructing the metro line from Arafat to Muzdalifa reaches SR 6. 65 billion, and will be completed within two years after signing the contract.
35% of the project capacity will be operational by Hajj season 1431H, and will be fully operational by Hajj season 1433H. the metro line will provide transportation for pilgrims along 18.1 kilometers in the holy places in Makkah.
