BIAL to begin work on aerotropolis

Chickaballapur: Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) BIAL will develop an airport city (aerotropolis) that will have the layout, infrastructure and economy related to the airport.

BIAL will begin work on the proposed aerotropolis by first half of 2010.

The airport city project has provisions for premium land for commercial real-estate development such as office parks, retail, entertainment and hospitality, in addition to the land reserved for a rail link to the city.

Airport cities and aeronautical SEZ is becoming part of airport development in India and also provide non-aeronautical revenues to the airport.
