BMC Sets Strict Deadlines for Completion of Bandra-Dharavi Flyover, Worli Connector, and Bandra Skywalk Projects.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently set strict timelines for three major infrastructure projects in Mumbai: the first phase of the Bandra-Dharavi flyover, the Bandra (East) skywalk, and the Worli connector. The completion targets are November 30 for the Bandra-Dharavi flyover phase one, December 31 for the Bandra skywalk, and December 2026 for the Worli connector.

About 80 percent of the Bandra skywalk is complete, with the remaining work expected to be finished within the next three months. BMC officials stated that the skywalk aims to open for public use by December 31 and emphasized that no delays will be tolerated, with strict action planned against contractors who miss deadlines.

The first phase of the Bandra-Dharavi flyover reconstruction, which is part of the Mithi River widening project, is 90 percent complete. When ready by November, the flyover will open two new southbound lanes providing direct access to the Mahim Causeway. Work orders for the second phase will be issued soon, with an expected completion timeline of 18 months.

At Worli, around 30 percent of the new flyover—spanning the drain between E Moses Road and Dr Annie Besant Road—is finished. Upon completion in December 2026, the flyover is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in Worli Naka, Mahalaxmi, and Lower Parel.

The BMC reiterated its commitment to ensuring timely completion of these projects to improve infrastructure and connectivity across key parts of Mumbai.
