Bukhari, Singh lay foundation of Rs. 40 cr road project in Kathua.

Minister for Public Works, Syed Altaf Bukhari, along with Minister for Health and Medical Education, Ch Lal Singh laid foundation stone of Rs 40.52 crore project, envisaging improvement and widening of 12 km Hatli link road.

Being constructed by Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Ltd, the project is expected to be completed within next three years.

On the occasion, Lal Singh emphasized that sustainable development plans are need of the hour to bring overall development in this kandi area.

“Success of any government lies in better synchronization between the departments and efficient working at grass root level and we are working hard in this regard,” he maintained.

Referring to rampant road problems in the area, Lal Singh directed the concerned officers to formulate road projects keeping in view the feasibility and viability of the area.

Altaf Bukhari, while speaking on the occasion, said that the government has opted new specifications to lay roads which will have longer life. He added that the contractors and executing agencies will be made accountable for a minimum three years life of the roads. He disclosed that over 100 km of up-gradation of roads has been taken up by the PWD in the district.
