DIC's new building to be ready by month-end.
The new additional building for the District Industries Centre (DIC) in the city is expected to be ready by the end of this month.
A new additional building has been sanctioned for the DIC at an estimate of Rs.1 crore and would house a mini conference hall with modern amenities and product display room. The government has also sanctioned Rs.25 lakh for renovating the existing building of the centre. The government had earmarked Rs.50 crore for construction of new buildings for District Industries Centres functioning in rented buildings, and renovating existing DIC buildings.
Swaran Singh, Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce, inspected the progress of works recently and instructed officials to complete the works before June 30. He also told the officials to ensure optimum utilisation of the available space. A.Rajarajan, General Manager, DIC, Tiruchi, and P.Ravindran, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department (Buildings), accompanied Mr.Singh.
