Four expressway projects worth Rs 16,680 cr cleared

The l government has approved building over 1,000 kilometres of expressways under its flagship road building programme NHDP at an investment of Rs 16,680 crore.
The projects include the 400 km long Vadodara-Mumbai, the 66 km long Delhi-Meerut, 334 km long Bangalore-Chennai, and the 277 km Kolkata-Dhanbad expressways.
The construction of 1,000 km of expressways under National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-VI through public private partnership at a total cost of Rs 16,680 crore has been approved by the Union Government, Road Transport and Highways Ministry said.
In addition, there is a proposal to develop the National Expressway II - Eastern Peripheral expressway - connecting NH 1 at the 36.083 km point near Kundli and terminating on NH 2 at the 64.033 km point near Palwal.
