Funds provided to rural roads in Kurunegala

Mavidalupotha: Highways Minister T.B. Ekanayake has funded Rs. 500,000 to reconstruct a rural road in Kurunegala, Mavidalupotha which was in a dilapidated state for the last few years.

The road which had not been repaired for a long time was full of large pot-holes which turn into muddy puddles on rainy days inconveniencing both motorists and pedestrians.

Minister Ekanayaka said Gama Neguma is the most effective development programme that helps establish a well-developed village providing more facilities to the people in rural areas. He said the Government will promote indigenous products and provide infrastructure facilities to rural and low-income families.
