Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved an allocation of ₹30.50 crore for the resurfacing and strengthening of seven roads in Bhuj city, covering a total length of 14.1 kilometers. This initiative aims to enhance urban transportation, improve infrastructure for Bhuj residents, and upgrade facilities for tourists visiting the Kutch region, according to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
This decision follows another major infrastructure move by Patel, who recently approved ₹778.74 crore for the construction of new major and minor bridges across 32 roads, part of an effort to enhance the state’s road-bridge network under the Gujarat Road and Building Department.
The Chief Minister's focus on strengthening road infrastructure aligns with his vision for holistic state development, fostering "Ease of Transportation" for people, industries, and trade. The plan includes widening narrow bridges to reduce traffic congestion, as well as reconstructing and repairing old and weak bridges, replacing outdated and unsafe structures.
Since taking office, CM Patel has approved ₹1,307 crore for 265 infrastructure projects, with an additional ₹2,086 crore approved in the past two years for 297 works aimed at improving road infrastructure.
These measures will not only provide a more efficient road network for the public but also significantly improve the ease of living and transportation in the state.
