Gujarat CM Reviews Progress at Dholera SIR.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing development works at the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), a key area the state government is strategically developing as a major semiconductor manufacturing hub.

Chief Minister Patel personally inspected the progress of various infrastructure projects within the Dholera SIR, including the ambitious Smart City project. This Smart City is being developed with world-class infrastructure under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to an official government release.

During the review, officials informed the Chief Minister that significant strides have been made in crucial connectivity projects, with 95 percent completion of the vital Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway. Furthermore, substantial progress has been achieved in other key infrastructure components within the SIR. Essential infrastructure facilities such as roads, underground utilities, and plug-and-play infrastructure are now complete in Dholera, officials stated.

The Chief Minister was also briefed on the completion of essential utilities, including the water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, common effluent treatment plant, and ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure. Additionally, a 300 MW solar park, crucial for providing clean energy to the region, has also been completed. Ongoing projects under review included the Bhimnath-Dholera freight railway line, a 192-bed hospital, a school up to Class 12, a fire station, and residential facilities specifically designed for investors.

A key focus of the Dholera SIR development is its transformation into a 'Semicon City'. The state government is actively fostering a robust semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem within the Smart City, attracting both domestic and international semiconductor manufacturing companies. Several such companies are currently in the process of establishing their production units within the region.

As part of this semiconductor push, Chief Minister Patel also reviewed the progress of the Tata Electronics semiconductor plant, a significant project underway within Dholera Semicon City. During his visit to the site, he met with Tata officials to assess the construction progress and toured the facility.

Further emphasizing the region's growing infrastructure, the Chief Minister also visited the Dholera International Airport. He reviewed the ongoing construction of the cargo building, terminal building, and runway, a project being developed at an estimated cost of ₹1,350 crore, which will significantly enhance connectivity and logistics for the burgeoning industrial hub.
