HARMAN to Invest ₹345 Crore in Expanding Pune Manufacturing Facility.
HARMAN, a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics and a global leader in connected automotive technologies, has announced an investment of ₹345 crore ($42 million) to expand its automotive electronics manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune.
The plan includes an immediate investment of ₹45 crore ($5.5 million) and an additional ₹300 crore ($36.5 million) over the next three years to support advanced telematics and next-generation automotive connectivity programs. With the latest expansion, HARMAN’s total investment in the Pune facility has reached ₹554 crore ($67 million) since its inception in 2014. The company expects the expansion to create around 300 new jobs by 2027.
The Pune plant serves as a global production hub for connected car technologies, manufacturing digital cockpits, telematics units, and car audio systems for major Indian automakers such as Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra & Mahindra, along with export markets in Europe and North America.
