Japanese Firm Horiba to Establish Unit in India for Semiconductor Manufacturers.

Horiba, a $2.5 billion Japanese analytical and measurement solutions company and a key player in the global semiconductor industry, is planning to set up a unit in India. This new facility will support the country's upcoming fabrication (fab) plants, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) units, and modified assembly, testing, marking, and packaging (ATMP) players, alongside serving the expanding global market.

Horiba dominates 60% of the global market for mass flow controllers (MFCs), which are crucial for various chip-making processes such as wafer cleaning, thin film deposition, chemical vapour deposition, and gas spray coating.
