Karnataka Clears ₹518-Crore Start-Up Policy to Promote 25,000 New Ventures.
The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the Start-Up Policy 2025–2030, with an outlay of ₹518.27 crore aimed at strengthening the State’s innovation ecosystem and fostering the creation of 25,000 new start-ups, including 10,000 ventures from Beyond Bengaluru.
Designed to position Karnataka as a “Champion State” in the start-up domain, the new policy focuses on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Quantum Computing, and other DeepTech sectors.
The policy will provide strategic support across funding, incubation, mentorship, R&D, infrastructure, and international collaborations. Implementation will be guided by seven core interventions — including skill development, market access, inclusion, sustainability, and regulatory facilitation — to promote innovation-led and inclusive growth.
“Karnataka already stands as the unrivalled leader in India’s start-up landscape, playing a pivotal role in positioning the country as a global innovation and entrepreneurial hub,” said Priyank Kharge, State Minister for Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, IT & Biotechnology. “This strategic initiative will further empower impact-driven business models, boost social entrepreneurship, and promote inclusive growth across the State,” he added.
