Karnataka Secures Over ₹1.4 Lakh Crore Investments from Mahindra & JSW Group.
Karnataka has attracted over ₹1.4 lakh crore in investments, with major commitments from Mahindra & Mahindra and JSW Group, announced at the Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2025.
Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, revealed plans to invest ₹40,000 crore in the state over the next five years. The investment will focus on renewable energy, tourism and hospitality, aerospace and defence, electric three-wheeler manufacturing, and real estate. Currently, Mahindra Group has ₹5,000 crore worth of real estate projects underway in Bengaluru, with an additional ₹6,000 crore investment in the pipeline.
“Our involvement with Karnataka is deeply rooted. Most of our major businesses, including automotive, IT, farm equipment, financial services, and hospitality, operate here. With over 25,000 direct employees in the state, we are confident in our long-term commitment to Karnataka,” Mahindra said.
JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal also announced an investment of over ₹1 lakh crore in Karnataka, with ₹43,000 crore allocated to steel manufacturing and ₹56,000 crore for hospitality, solar power, clean energy, and green hydrogen projects.
“We are committed to making Vijayanagar the world’s largest and most advanced steel plant. This ₹43,000 crore investment will expand capacity, integrate AI and robotics, and set new benchmarks in high-quality steel production,” Jindal stated.
Additionally, Karnataka secured major investment commitments, including a ₹54,000 crore integrated steel plant by Baldota Steel & Power Ltd, ₹50,000 crore for renewable energy projects by Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd, ₹22,200 crore for renewable energy and green hydrogen projects by Hero Future Energies, ₹21,950 crore for wind power projects by Suzlon Energy Ltd, and ₹10,000 crore for semiconductor equipment manufacturing by Lam Research.
These investments are set to bolster Karnataka’s position as a key hub for industrial growth, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.
