NTPC Records Growth in Production and Dispatch from Captive Coal Mines in Q1 FY25
State-run NTPC announced on Monday that it has achieved a notable 17.15% growth in coal despatch from its captive mines during the first quarter of FY25, compared to the same period last year.
The company reported a coal despatch of 10.194 million tonnes (MT) in Q1 FY25, showcasing a robust performance in meeting energy demands. Concurrently, coal production reached 9.862 MT, marking a nearly 15% increase by the end of the quarter.
This achievement underscores NTPC's steadfast commitment to enhancing coal production from its captive mines, ensuring efficient supply to support India's energy requirements.
NTPC has implemented various strategies and technologies aimed at sustaining growth in coal production, reinforcing its dedication to delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable power across the nation. This significant growth in coal production and despatch reflects NTPC's operational excellence and its pivotal role in fulfilling India's energy needs.
In FY24, the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) reported a substantial 55% increase in coal despatch from its captive mines compared to the previous year, reaching 34.15 MT. Coal production for the fiscal year stood at 34.38 MT, marking nearly a 50% year-on-year growth by March 31, 2024.
