Over Rs. 4,000 crore plan for augmenting power supply in Haryana.

Haryana's State Level Standing Committee has recommended preparation of detailed project reports for implementing Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) with an outlay of Rs. 4,044.31 crore.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the State Level Standing Committee which met under the Chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary D S Dhesi recently.

The decision was taken to strengthen the transmission and distribution network and metering of distribution transformers /feeders throughout the state, said Nitin Yadav, Managing Director, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN).

With an objective to provide round-the-clock power to rural households and adequate power to agricultural consumers, DDUGJY would also benefit further reduction in AT and C losses of Haryana Discoms.

The scheme would include erection of 33/11 kV substations, augmentation of existing substations, bifurcation/trifurcation of 11 kV feeders, system strengthening of 11 kV and LT network, replacement of faulty/elector mechanical meters and relocation of meters outside the premises of consumers, installation of static meters at feeder and distribution transmission, feeders segregation and installation of capacitor at the village level.

A total of Rs 2,753.64 crore would be spent for these activities.
