Pak: DPDC approves 777 development schemes
Hyderabad: The District Peoples Development Committee (DPDC) Hyderabad in its meeting held under the Chairmanship of MPA Pir Amjad Hussain Shah Jilani has approved 777 different development schemes recommended by all MNAs and MPAs of the district and fixed January 15, 2009 as cut date to the executing agencies for finalising PC-I and other formalities required for proceedings these schemes to the Provincial Planning and Development Department.
Provincial Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgri, MNA Tayyab Hussain, MNA Salahuddin, MPA Farheen Mughal, MPA Waseem Hussain, MPA Sohail Yousif, MPA Akram Adil, and DCO Hyderabad Aftab Ahmed Khatri, all EDOs, TMOs and officers from nation building departments Government of Sindh attended the meeting.
The MPA Pir Amjad Hussain Shah Jilani who was also the Chairman of the DPDC, said that Provincial Government has allocated a special development package of Rs 2 billion for the upliftment of the Hyderabad District and made it clear that these development schemes to be taken into hand would be in addition to the schemes to be included under Annual Development Programme (ADP), public representatives development fund and other development programmes.
He said that under this programme each MNA & MPA of the district has been authorised to recommend development schemes up to his/her development share of Rs 220.22 million, which would be taken into hand during next financial year 2009-10. He said that the main purpose of this package was to take public representatives on board and to carryout development schemes according to the wishes of common men.
He said that PC-I of these schemes have been prepared while remaining schemes have been forwarded for the purpose to the concerned executing agencies and have been directed to complete the task by January 15, 2009.
Pir Amjad Hussain Shah Jilani said that the MNAs & MPAs who were also the member of the committee can re-check or revise their submitted development schemes and re-submit to the committee by January 10, 2009 so that PC-I of such new schemes if any could be got prepared by January 15, 2009.
He directed the officers of executing agencies to scrutinise all recommended schemes. He also directed them to complete PC-I of all development schemes and prepare the documentation in all sense so that these could be submitted to the Provincial Planning & Development Department for further proceedings and implementation.
