PM Modi to Inaugurate 103 Amrit Bharat Stations, Launch ₹26,000 Crore Rajasthan Projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations across 18 states and Union Territories, marking a significant stride in the modernization of Indian Railways under the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These stations, redeveloped at a cost of approximately ₹1,100 crore, aim to transform over 1,300 railway stations nationwide into modern transport hubs, integrating upgraded passenger amenities and regional architectural elements.

The 103 newly revitalized stations are spread across 86 districts, encompassing major and minor stations in states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Notable stations in Maharashtra include Amgaon, Chanda Fort, Chinchpokli, Matunga, and Parel, while Uttar Pradesh sees the inauguration of stations like Balrampur, Bareilly city, and Saharanpur Junction. In Tamil Nadu, stations like Chidambaram and Srirangam are among those inaugurated.

In a visit to Bikaner, Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi simultaneously laid the foundation stone for a multitude of development projects exceeding ₹26,000 crore. His itinerary began with prayers at the revered Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke, followed by a visit to the newly redeveloped Deshnoke railway station, one of the eight stations in Rajasthan revamped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The Deshnoke station, notably, features designs reflecting local architectural traditions, including temple-style arches and decorative pillars.

During the event, PM Modi also flagged off the new Bikaner-Mumbai Express train, a move poised to enhance connectivity between the two major cities. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma accompanied the Prime Minister throughout the visit.

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme emphasizes enhanced passenger facilities, accessibility for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), and culturally rich designs at railway stations nationwide.

Beyond the railway infrastructure, the Prime Minister's visit focused on a comprehensive development agenda for Rajasthan. He laid the foundation for the 58 km Churu-Sadulpur rail line and dedicated the electrification of key railway sections, including Suratgarh-Phalodi (336 km) and Udaipur-Himmatnagar (210 km), among others, contributing to Indian Railways' goal of 100% electrification.

In the realm of road infrastructure, projects aimed at bolstering both civilian connectivity and national security were launched. This includes the foundation stone for three vehicular underpasses on NH-58 in Pushkar and the widening of NH-11 and NH-70. Seven major national highway projects, totaling ₹4,850 crore and extending to the Indo-Pakistan border, were also dedicated, promising improved military mobility and regional economic growth.

The Prime Minister also underscored India's commitment to clean energy by laying the foundation for several solar power initiatives, including a 300 MW ground-mounted solar project by NEEPCO in Bikaner and a 100 MW project by SJVN in Nawa. Additionally, three key power infrastructure projects, including the Power Grid Neemuch Transmission System, were inaugurated to enhance grid connectivity and ensure stable energy supply across Rajasthan.

Further strengthening regional connectivity, the Prime Minister launched the upgradation and maintenance of 12 state highways covering 757 km under the Rajasthan State Highway Development Programme, with an investment of ₹3,240 crore. Plans are also underway for the future upgradation of another 900 km of roadways, connecting industrial and border areas more efficiently.

To bolster the state's healthcare infrastructure, four new nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur were inaugurated, aiming to strengthen the healthcare workforce and improve access to quality medical education. Additionally, two electrical substations were inaugurated to enhance power distribution in the region.
