PM Modi to Inaugurate First RapidX Project in Delhi-Meerut RRTS on October 20.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a pivotal section of RapidX, India's groundbreaking Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), on October 20. This notable section, connecting Duhai and Sahibabad, will span 17 kilometers and incorporate five key stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot.

One of the highlights of the project is the Ghaziabad RapidX Station, where commuters will have seamless connectivity to the Delhi Metro's red line via a footover bridge. PM Modi is also expected to officiate the launch of the very first RapidX RRTS train in Ghaziabad.

With the ambitious aim of completing the Delhi-Meerut RRTS by 2025, this pioneering regional connectivity project is designed to cover a remarkable distance of 82 kilometers within just one hour of travel. The execution of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project falls under the jurisdiction of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), as reported by The Times of India (TOI).

The NCRTC has proudly stated that RapidX services will constitute the nation's "first railway system" with a remarkable maximum operational speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The average speed of RapidX trains on the RRTS is projected to be 100 kilometers per hour, surpassing the speeds of both metro trains and passenger trains operated by the Indian Railways. The inaugural RapidX train sets have been skillfully crafted by the esteemed manufacturing company Alstom in Gujarat.

Notably, the Ministry of Railways has sanctioned the RRTS rolling stock train sets, which are designed for a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour, but will be operational at 160 kilometers per hour, marking a significant milestone in transportation.

The RapidX trains will comprise six coaches, including one premium coach equipped with separate entry and exit points on platforms. The specific fares for the RapidX service are expected to be announced shortly, ushering in a new era of high-speed regional transit.
