Rs. 1,000 crore for construction of residential schools: Babu.
The government will be spending Rs. 1,000 crore for construction of residential schools in all the 13 districts of the state, said Social and Tribal Welfare Minister R Kishore Babu said in Guntur recently.
After laying foundation stone for the residential school to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 13 crore at Kakamanu mandal headquarters in Guntur district on Saturday, the Minister said funds to a tune of Rs 500 crore will be given each to Roads and Buildings and Panchayat Raj departments for construction of the residential schools and also for providing the required infrastructure.
After observing the hardships of the students in hostels, the government decided to construct residential schools with modern facilities and to shift all the hostelers into the residential schools, he said and assured that students will get quality education in the new premises as the teachers will be available to them round-the-clock.
