"RVNL has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the Overhead Equipment (OHE) modification project on South Central Railway’s Ongole–Gudur section."

South Central Railway has declared Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) as the lowest bidder for a major overhead electrification (OHE) upgradation project in the Ongole–Gudur section of the Vijayawada Division.

The contract, valued at ₹242.50 crore, involves the upgradation of the existing 1×25 kV electrification system to a 2×25 kV feeding system and is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.

The scope of work includes the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the upgraded OHE system, along with feeder and earthing works, across the Ongole (inclusive) to Gudur (inclusive) section under South Central Railway.

Earlier, on January 16, South Central Railway had also declared RVNL as the lowest bidder for another project worth ₹87.56 crore. That contract involves the supply, installation and commissioning of an IP-based video surveillance system (VSS) in LHB coaches.
