Saatvik Green Energy to Invest ₹3,150 Crore in Solar Module and Cell Manufacturing Plant in Odisha.
Saatvik Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) recently announced plans to invest ₹3,150 crore in a greenfield manufacturing facility in Odisha, marking a major expansion in its solar production capabilities.
The proposed facility will be developed in phases and will house 4 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing capacity along with 4.8 GW of solar cell capacity. This investment is aimed at strengthening SGEL’s position in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
SGEL currently operates around 3.8 GW of module capacity and is in the process of adding another 1 GW at its Ambala facility in Haryana.
Prashant Mathur, CEO of SGEL, said the Odisha expansion is a strategic move to maintain the company’s market share in an increasingly competitive landscape. “This greenfield project will play a crucial role in supporting our long-term growth and commitment to India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem,” he stated.
The company, which is also involved in EPC services for utility-scale, commercial, and industrial solar projects, aims to capitalize on the rising demand for domestically manufactured solar components as India pushes toward its renewable energy targets.
