Sagar Defence to Establish World’s First Autonomous Maritime Shipyard in Andhra Pradesh.

Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt. Ltd has been allotted 29.58 acres at the Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour in Bogolu Mandal, SPSR Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, to establish the world’s first autonomous maritime shipyard and systems centre.

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet’s approval is seen as a key step in boosting India’s indigenous capabilities for surface and subsurface maritime platforms, supporting the development of a future-ready technology ecosystem.

Founded in 2015 by Capt. Nikunj Parashar (Founder & CMD), Mridul Babbar (Co-Founder & CFO), and Lakshay Dang (Co-Founder & CEO), Sagar Defence Engineering specialises in unmanned and autonomous systems across maritime, aerial, and land domains. The company provides surveillance, ISR, and logistics solutions for defence, commercial, and scientific applications, with a vision to create a “Digital Ocean” using real-time data from autonomous platforms.
