Singoor water for 10,000 acres.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that irrigation water would be supplied to 10,000 acres by completing construction of canals. He warned that action would be taken against contractor, if he fails to complete the works and would be put in blacklist.

Holding a review meeting on Singoor project after participating in Harita Haram programme held at Pulkal mandal recently, Mr. Harish Rao said that irrigation would be supplied for 10,000 acres each during kharif and rabi seasons.

He said that construction of quarters by that time in addition to additional staff from other project areas would be deputed to the project shortly. He also directed the officials to create an WhatsApp group to supervise the progress everyday by involving all the concerned.

Stating that there were some bottlenecks in the canal works, Mr. Harish Rao said that they would be taken up with the help of police, if necessary. “We have to acquire land for completion of canal works and we are authorising the Joint Collector and the Revenue Divisional Officer to pay 25 per cent additional compensation, if necessary. Notification will be issued for land acquisition by Saturday,” he said, adding that the works need to be completed on war-footing.

Referring to the comments made by actor and Janasena president Pavan Kalyan, the Minister wondered why he was silent on the corruption allegations and subsequent arrest of the TDP leader A. Revanth Reddy. He said that Mr Pavan Kalyan has no moral right to criticise Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao or Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Zaheerabad MP B.B. Patil, MLA P. Babumohan and others were present.
