SRF Approves ₹600 Crore Investment for Battery-Grade Aluminium Foil Plant in Madhya Pradesh

21 October 2026: SRF Limited has approved an investment of approximately ₹600 crore to establish a battery-grade aluminium foil manufacturing facility at Jetapur, Madhya Pradesh. The project will be implemented through its wholly owned subsidiary, SRF Altech Limited, at its existing manufacturing site. The proposed facility will manufacture specialised aluminium foil for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, catering to India's expanding electric vehicle and energy storage sectors. The plant will have an annual production capacity of approximately 12,000 metric tonnes. Investment will be undertaken in two phases, involving ₹300 crore each. The first phase is scheduled for completion by September 2028, followed by the second phase in September 2030. Financing will be arranged through a combination of internal accruals and debt. The investment will strengthen SRF's Performance Films and Foil Business, expand its value-added product portfolio and support domestic battery material manufacturing capabilities, contributing to India's emerging clean energy supply chain.
