Sylhet to get first five-star hotel
Sylhet: The first five-star hotel outside capital Dhaka was constructed in the panoramic city of Sylhet by Bangladeshi expatriates, aiming to attract foreign tourists.
The hotel, 'Rose View', was constructed near New Shahjalal Bridge at Upashahar at a cost of Tk 125 crore. The hotel will be formally inaugurated Wednesday,' said its managing director Moyeen Uddin, a Bangladeshi expatriate living in the UK, at a press conference.
Moyeen said the hotel has 150 cozy deluxe suites, including one presidential suite, seven ambassador suites and 27 royal suites. It also has an extensive array of restaurant outlets, a fully equipped fitness centre, swimming pool and other recreational facilities.
He said the full range of meeting facilities to be provided by the hotel includes LCD projectors, overhead projectors, audio-visual equipment, wireless microphones white boards and flipcharts.
Moyeen said they imported all the furniture of the hotel from China, Thailand and Singapore.
He said they took the initiative to construct the five-star hotel at the inspiration of his father, Alhaj Ahad Uddin, also the chairman of the Rose View Complex Private Limited.
He hoped that this hotel would play an important role in exploring the huge potentials of tourism in the scenic city and would encourage other expatriates to invest in their homeland.
