"Telangana Government to Establish Yarn Depot in Rajanna Sircilla"

The Telangana Government has approved the establishment of a yarn depot in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla District, aimed at supporting the power loom sector. The Telangana State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society Limited (TGSCO) will serve as the nodal agency for the project, which has been granted a ₹50 crore corpus fund to ensure the procurement and maintenance of buffer yarn stocks.

The proposal, submitted by the Commissioner of Handlooms, Textiles, and Apparel Export Parks (AEPS), Hyderabad, was carefully examined and approved by the government. The yarn depot will address the needs of Sircilla, a significant textile hub with decentralized power looms providing direct and indirect employment to thousands of workers.

In an official statement released on Saturday, Shailaja Ramaiyer, Principal Secretary of Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts, confirmed the government's decision and instructed the Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles to proceed with the necessary actions to implement the project.
