Vedanta Group to Invest Additional ₹1 Lakh Crore in Odisha

Vedanta Group will invest an additional Rs 1 lakh crore in Odisha, generating over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, officials announced recently. The investment plan features a Rs 2,000-crore ferro-alloys plant in Keonjhar district, an aluminium park in Dhenkanal district, and another aluminium park at a state government–identified site in Jharsuguda. The proposal was presented by Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who assured full government support for land acquisition and infrastructure to expedite the projects. This move significantly boosts Odisha’s industrial growth and aligns with its vision to become a USD 500-billion economy by 2036.
