With corporates increasingly entering the companion animal healthcare space, Vetic, a Gurgaon-based network of pet clinics and hospitals, has announced plans to expand its footprint.
Currently operating around 40 centers, Vetic aims to add 25 more by December 2025, according to founder Gaurav Ajmera. The network was launched following Ajmera’s personal experience with veterinary healthcare gaps when his cat, Simba, fell ill. Vetic’s mission is to provide human-grade healthcare to pets, delivering predictable outcomes, Ajmera told businessline.
The network supports both pets and community animals, offering differential pricing and discounts of 20–30% for the latter, Ajmera said. Among its facilities, seven are 24/7 hospitals located in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. These hospitals are equipped with emergency departments capable of handling critical cases, trauma, and complex medical situations.
While Ajmera refrained from disclosing financial details, he indicated that expansion plans would be funded through internal resources and other avenues. He also highlighted the potential growth of services for aging pets and the development of pet health insurance, emphasizing the high costs associated with pet healthcare.
However, the network has faced challenges, including an incident of animal abuse at a Mumbai center nearly a year ago. Vetic has since implemented measures to prevent such occurrences, including enhanced staff training, improved sensitivity protocols, and comprehensive camera coverage to eliminate blind spots.
As the pet healthcare sector continues to evolve, Vetic remains committed to setting higher standards for companion animal care across India.
