Vinci awarded €183m contract for Calgary ring road
A consortium of French construction giant Vinci, its subsidiaries and local firm Graham have been awarded a €183m contract from the Alberta Ministry of Transportation to build the southern segment of Calgary’s ring road.
Work on the 5km road involves building four interchanges, seven bridges, a tunnel for pedestrians, as well as earthworks, drainage, paving and lighting.
This project will complete the West Calgary Ring Road, which lies between Alberta Highway 8 and the Trans-Canada Highway.
When complete in 2024, the ring road will provide 100km of fast motoring around Calgary.
