Waaree Energies Plans 3-Gigawatt Module Manufacturing Facility in Texas
Waaree Energies announced its ambitious venture to establish its inaugural manufacturing facility in the United States, choosing Houston as the strategic location. The facility, situated in Brookshire, is slated to commence operations with an initial capacity to produce an impressive 3 gigawatts (GW) of solar modules annually by the close of 2024.
In a bid to fortify its presence and contribute significantly to the renewable energy landscape, Waaree has outlined plans to channel investments of up to $1 billion over the next four years. This substantial investment aims to scale up the annual module manufacturing production to an impressive 5 GW by the year 2027, positioning the facility among the largest solar module manufacturing units in the United States.
As part of its expansion strategy, Waaree Energies will also integrate a solar cell facility, manufactured within the United States, into its operations, with expectations for it to become operational by 2025. The holistic development is anticipated to generate over 1,500 jobs in the United States at full capacity, underlining Waaree's commitment to contributing to employment opportunities and sustainable energy practices in the region.
