WABAG Wins ₹3,251 Crore Consortium Deal for Sewage Treatment Plant in Saudi Arabia.

Va Tech WABAG Ltd (WABAG), a global leader in water technology, has won a major consortium contract worth $371 million (approximately ₹3,251 crore) from Al Haer Environmental Services Company.

The project entails the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of a 200 MLD Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP), along with outfall delivery facilities. The ISTP is being developed by a consortium led by Miahona Company, alongside Marafiq and N.V. Besix S.A., for the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), which oversees water and wastewater projects in Saudi Arabia.

Part of Saudi Arabia’s ‘Vision 2030’ initiative, the project aims to enhance sewage treatment infrastructure in the Kingdom. WABAG, as the Technology Partner and EPC leader, will handle the plant’s design and construction, while Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Contracting Company (MGC) will manage transmission pipelines and reservoir construction.

“This prestigious order underscores our technological expertise and strengthens our leadership in the Middle East,” said Sivakumar V, Regional Head – Sales and Marketing, WABAG.

Earlier this year, WABAG secured an order for a 20 MLD Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant at Ras Tanura Refinery, also in Saudi Arabia. The latest contract win further solidifies WABAG’s growing presence and reputation in the region.
